When I was young, I used to play on the cement tile floor in my grandmother’s house in Mahdia.

The hypnotizing colored patterns of the tiles told an endless story of beauty and escape from the confinement of the space I was in. I came across different designs motifs in downtown Tunis and I was always intoxicated by the labyrinths of colors and patterns.

During my trips around the Mediterranean and across Latin America, my love for cement tiles got deeper when I walked on almost the same floor, miles a way from my grand mother's house. The tiles represented an emotional and physical object bridging gaps between continents and cultures. They are, defacto, a culture by design.
